'Bienvenido' Exhibition | Official Chronicle August 29 2013

On the 8th of August, 'Bienvenido' was officially inaugurated. The evening turned
out to be a wonderful one. Many thanks to all of you who managed to turn around and
make this moment happen, and to those who couldn't make it but wished to have been
there with us. It was very nice to catch up with old friends, and have a chance to
listen to your comments and to share mine with you as well. A couple of pearls in
the 'comments notebook' will deserve closer attention and will be answered shortly. After some time bringing pleasure to my eyes, The Kiss, a colourful reflection about
unconditional love, and the biggest piece of the show, was the first painting to find
a new wall to live on and fresh eyes to bring joy to. A few drinks into the evening,
'Summer Time', one of the starlets of the night, also looked back and gave me a warm
goodbye. First, we closed the library, then we closed the pub, and the evening turned
into the night. Over these past 3 weeks, the show went on, and a few more paintings have found new
homes. It is always a strange feeling to let them go, perhaps a bit of sadness
mixed up with a lot of joy. Past my little dose of 'Monday Blues' after the closure, I am already looking
forward to the next one. I will keep you posted. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
